School's science fairs

Jason's school had a science fair last Friday.  In Jason's classroom, there are 32 students in total.  Again, the teachers did a great job to instruct those between 3 to 5 years old wild children to present their science projects.  One and half week before the fair, we practiced with Jason's on his parts at home a couple times everyday.

Project#1 - why regular soda sinks and diet soda floats?
Jason said : Next, I will place a can of regular soda into the water....it sank.

Project#2 - why orange floats and pilled orange sink?
Jason said :  First, I fill a bottle with water.
Jason said : Then I put the orange into the water and watch what happen .....it floats.

Jason did a good job to present his parts.  He was not shy or scared in front of many parents.  The teacher was happy he said the words clearly.  In fact, Jason got a light cold and his voice sounded muffled.

I will post a video on Youtube and publish a new posts later.  I took pictures during the show and around the classroom.  Beside those projects that were presented by students, there were other several projects set up around the classroom for seeing.   The science fair was not only held for Jason's classroom. Other classrooms were scheduled to the different date.  So I am sure that those "projects" were moving around the classrooms for the show.

Tornado in bottle

Oil and water, light refraction.

Sound

Aluminum corrosion

Egg magic

Xylem tubes

Jason told the teacher there was a drop of color from the previous presented project, and was not wiped clean.

Snow in March

Last Monday 3/17 we got another about 10" snow.  Check out the snow souffle.  One more coming on Tuesday.  Hope it will be the last snow this winter.
